Reel Warrior

Our Mission

Reel Warrior fishing is a nonprofit organization with a laser sharp focus on America’s Veterans who were severely injured in combat.  We introduce fishing as an adaptive sport and provide outdoor recreation to rehabilitate America’s combat Veterans who are amputees, burn victims, and those who benefit emotionally from peer support.   We start with flyfishing workshops and bass fishing training.  Veterans who enjoy competition are sponsored to compete in bass fishing tournaments along with pro angler partners.  We also sponsor several group trips to build connections and develop lifetime supportive friendships.  We rely on professional guides, pro tournament anglers and volunteers to mentor and support our mission.  Most volunteers involved are also combat veterans.  We have no paid staff and 100% of donation funds go to veteran services, equipment and events.

Jeremy Loud founded the Reel Warrior organization after serving 8.5 years in the US Army.  He realized the need for support and rehabilitation for his injured friends returning from combat tours and started inviting them to be co-anglers with him in local bass fishing tournaments.  His vision for Reel Warriors grew when he went to work full time with the Department of Veteran Affairs. He realized that severely injured veterans, struggled to integrate back into civilian life.  Jeremy pledges his entire VA compensation for his service-related injuries back to the organization and in service to other veterans who sacrificed more.

Eric Clement retired after 24 years active duty in the US Navy.  He went to work for the Department of Veteran Affairs as an Adaptive Housing project manager where he provides fully adapted homes to veterans that require adapted features to live more independently.  Eric is also founder of startup non-profit LivingHope that provides independent living to young adults with intellectual disabilities.  The first LivingHope campus is currently in development planning and is expected to be under construction in Texas in late 2024.
